The “Key Island” will undoubtedly be included in the upcoming Galaxy A16 5G phone, as all the renders and design leaks have already made clear. However, what we were not prepared for was the update increase that is being planned for it. This is our meaning of it.
TheTechOutlook managed to obtain the Galaxy A16 5G marketing materials, which included a wealth of information regarding the device’s features, characteristics, colors, and more. The 6x OS and 6x Security update promise was the one item that caught us off guard because we couldn’t have imagined these numbers outside of their flagship category.
These staggering figures, if accurate, indicate that the Galaxy A16 5G may receive updates until Android 21 if it launches with Android 15. Keep in mind that the A16 5G is an entry-level phone, and Samsung might succeed here even if the majority of other brands in this market aren’t even able to provide 2-year OS upgrades.
The promotional materials also revealed that Samsung’s newest low-cost smartphone has a slimmer 7.9mm design—thinner than the bulkier 8.4mm A15 5G—and will come in three colors: green, black, and brand-new gold. The 6.7″ flat IPS U-notch Galaxy A16 5G has a refresh rate of 90Hz.
For it, two different chip combinations are possible: an Exynos 1330 5nm 2.4 GHz and an MTK platform Dimensity 6300. These photos also confirm that A16 has an IP54 classification. The previous time it was absent from the Galaxy A15 5G.
