With the arrival of the Galaxy A06 a month ago, Samsung officially launched this year’s affordable A series, and it is fairly clear what will follow. The Galaxy A16 is scheduled to launch shortly, and as previously said, it may be available in 4G and 5G versions.

We have been monitoring it. The fact that the Galaxy A06 is racing from one certifier to the next is unmistakable evidence that it is under development. Now that it has appeared on the FCC and TUV Rheinland, we can provide you with even more details. The FCC identified A16 4G with serial code SM-A165M/DS, or dual SIM.

Since not all of the information was noteworthy, we’ll merely focus on the highlights, such as the official charging speeds or perhaps a few necessities. What about the A16 4G’s charging speeds? It features LTE bands and even NFC compatibility for contactless purchases.

The data cable (EP-DN980) and charger product number for Samsung’s newest 5G phone, the EP-TA800, were made public by the FCC. We verified with TUV Rheinland that these devices will support 25W phones. For the Galaxy A16 5G, everything is the same: dual-band WiFi, 25W charging, Bluetooth, etc.

Of course, with 5G bands, the A16 5G will perform better during web browsing, but both A16s will function equally in those 4G-heavy places. TUV Rheinland noted that the Galaxy A16 5G has a 4860 mAh rated cell; when it launches, Samsung may market it as a standard 5000mAh battery.
