When the new Itel phone stopped by the Google Play Console earlier, we were able to get a brief look at it. It appears that Itel A80 is not too far off. Since it’s part of their A series, there’s a chance it will be just as reasonably priced as the other family members. In any case, this is what the Google Play Console says about it.

To begin with, the listing supports our hypothesis that the phone is an entry-level model. They designated the A671LC model number for it. There is a 720 x 1600 screen resolution limit on the Itel A80. The most common standard in less expensive sub-$100 phones is HD+ IPS.

GPC then brought up the “Speedtrum T603.” In case you are unaware, the system on Chip is called Unisoc Tiger T603, and it is a product of Unisoc. It is by no means a powerful chip. The maximum clock speed this one can produce is 1800 MHz. However, it continues to function well with older Android Go versions.

The inbuilt graphics on that SoC are PowerVR GE8322. However, that GPU has held up nicely over time. RAM was another item that GPC brought to our notice. Another indication that the Itel new 4G budget phone is in the lowest end of the market is its 3 GB capacity.

The most recent version of Google’s operating system, Android 14 (SDK 34), is unknown how well the 3GB RAM-limited Itel A80 would manage it. It wasn’t stated whether Android 14 Go was installed or not. They would be better suited to adopting the more feature-rich “Go” build rather than the full-featured Android 14 with these specs.
