The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ are set to go on sale this week; the vanilla Note 14 is still unannounced. The next Redmi Note series has an official launch date. The major announcement is scheduled for September 26th, and they have hinted at some durability information for both of them. I’ll give you a little preview.

Although the Redmi General Manager had hinted on X that this year’s range is focused mostly on durability, we weren’t expecting one of these phones to receive an IP69K certification. This is significant since the phones they certify with this certification are typically tough phones with military-grade protection.

Although IP68 and IP69 ratings for phones are certainly familiar to you, IP69k ratings are unheard of, as these phones can withstand immersion in deep water extreme heat, and jet spray. Although the details were ambiguous, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus is most likely the IP69k model, while the other will be IP68.

IP68 is good enough, and it’s what most flagships like S24 Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro Max use, so it’s still great to see in a mid-tier segment. There was also an official Weibo post about the series for a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 that is present on Xiaomi’s latest Note models, the Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro Plus.

Based on their teaser designs and renders, there is a lot of speculation that they will have curved AMOLEDs on the front. As of right now, these are the only official details available. However, more details are typically disclosed shortly after the launch, so perhaps there are still more to come.
