Only last year did Tecno enter the Battle of Folds and Flips. With some new fighters, though, they are turning up the heat in the arena. In Ghana, and West Africa, the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2 were introduced. They are available for pre-order through August 24th via Tecno Ghana.

Let’s get to know these devices a little better because, of course, it won’t take them long to implement those in further regions. The former circular disk that was located on the back is no longer there. That was swapped out for a square design in V Fold 2. There are three camera units that we have, and they are all 50 MP in resolution.

Maybe even a periscope telephoto is one of those. The landing zone has a little extra protrusion because of this. Let’s just sum up by saying that this design is more in line with other folds available on the market. The curved sides make this nice to handle; check plus. For added privacy, there is a fingerprint reader on the side.

Although there are certain assumptions, the pre-shipping specs don’t provide much information. They might have put a Dimensity 9000 Plus in the center of Tecno’s most recent foldable phone because it caters to power users. On the other hand, the Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 can lack that much power, receiving only a Dimensity 8050.

The Flip 2 boasts an improved and larger cover screen. It appears as though they took inspiration from the 3.6″ cover of Motorola’s Razr 50, which features cameras protruding from the screen. S-pen support appears to be Fold 2’s most significant update.

The BIS gave this pair the go-ahead to debut in an Asian market. Nobody knows for sure when, but it’s soon. However, pre-order gifts for the Phantom Fold 2 and Flip 2 are a big deal in Ghana. Pre-orderers appear to be eligible for complimentary gifts worth about $193, including a Watch 3, a travel bag, a Bluetooth speaker, and a flask.
